For a long time now, skincare has been a big priority of mine. With my skin being both eczema prone and blemish prone, it can be very difficult to find a balance. Recently I have been slowly introducing some new products to the routine and they have had both positive and negative effects, meaning some are here to stay, but others are going to be gone as soon as I’ve finished them.
One of the products I have now been trialling since October is the It’s Skin Power 10 Formula GF Effector Serum. I can’t say I know a lot about the product with it being K beauty and all the writing on the bottle reflecting that. Having done a bit of research however, I do know that this serum is for soothing and reducing redness in the skin.
The packaging of this isn’t unusual for a serum. It initially arrives wrapped in plastic shrink wrap instead of a box. I think I personally prefer a box, but it’s not too bad. The bottle is formed from bright blue glass which I personally think is a really striking and pretty colour. Overall, it’s very simple with the writing on it being a plain, sleek white. To dispense the product, a pipet is used with a white rubber top and silver cap. This isn’t my favourite method of dispensing products as it’s very difficult to get to the last of it out and I always end up having to leave some which feels like a waste. Although, for £12 it doesn’t break the bank as much as a high-end serum would. I’m very close to reaching this point now and it’s lasted me about 3 months of twice daily use which isn’t too bad, it worked out about £0.07 per use so I can’t complain about that.
I first received a sample of this in the ASOS beauty box that I purchased in October and on first use, I’ll admit I was sceptical, it tingled my skin a little and that tends to make me uncertain with how it’ll affect my eczema. After a few uses, the tingling stopped, likely due to my skin getting used to the product, and I realised that it was making an overall positive effect.
The product itself is a clear liquid with tiny blue particles which seem to dissolve on the skin. I do think this has reduced redness, generally I notice this most if I skip using it as my face is a little redder. The biggest thing for me with this however, is how much it plumped my skin, almost straight after application my skin feels so much better and less dehydrated. It has really become a staple in my routine and I can’t get enough of it, the texture is better, and my makeup sits so smoothly. I really can’t recommend this enough.
I haven’t tried many other serums to compare this to however, it does so much more good than those that I have. I’ve tried the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate which flared my eczema and the BareMinerals Eternalixer Serum which just did nothing for me. This is the cheapest of the three and has done so much better.
I will 100% be repurchasing this when I run out in the coming weeks and eventually I’m hoping to try some of the other serums which target other concerns to see how they shape up.
Let me know in the comments if you have tried this, I’d love to know what you thought and what is your go to serum!
