I don’t do a monthly favourites because I don’t try enough new products in that time frame to really have enough to say about it, however, in a season I really do. I will admit that I have been on a bit of a spending spree recently and I really do need to reign that in before I go back to uni in september, however it’s given me lots to talk about now.
Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution
I haven’t spoken too much about my skincare since restarting my blog because it’s something which I have struggled with in terms of finding the right products for my skin, but recently I feel like I have nailed it and in a couple of weeks I will finally share my routine with you. One of the items which will be included in the evening part of this is the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution, I absolutely love it. I have real problems finding products which don’t aggravate my eczema and a lot of micellar waters have done just that (including the raved about Garnier Micellar Water). This is the only one that seems to work for me. I use this for two types of occasions, if I have worn heavy eye makeup I use this on my eyes before the rest of my usual routine. I also use this a lot when I travel and my usual routine isn’t possible. I take my time using this and it removes all of my make up so my skin is ready for my moisturiser.
Kiehl’s Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment
I won’t talk about this too much because I wrote a whole post on it when I first started my blog (read the post here, let me know if you want me to do an updated review in m current style!). When I finished that tub my eyes were feeling good and I was quite broke so I decided not to repurchase any eye creams and just stuck to my usual moisturiser. In March, I had a similar problem to when I first tried the cream, my eczema flared up and when it went I was left with the same puffiness and heavy creasing. I tried another eye cream but that just made things worse (I wrote about that experience here!) and then finally decided to go back to this. Why I didn’t go back to it sooner I don’t know. Within a couple of weeks my skin was mine again and back to how it should be. This is now a priority for my collection and I will continue to repurchase it for as long as it works. Thank you Kiehl’s!!
Lush King of Skin Body Butter Bar
If you read my post about the Lush Scrubee Bar, you will know that I loved how moisturising it was but found the exfoliation to be a bit much. Having read this my lovely friend got me king of Skin for my birthday because it’s the same moisturising texture without the exfoliation, perfect! I really love this, the scent is subtle and soothing and it’s so nice and easy to use in the bath or shower. It’s very moisturising without you needing to wait for it to sink in, perfect for use in the morning!
BareMinerals Complexion Rescue
This is another product I have written a whole post about before. I always come back to this foundation at this time of year. It’s very light and more of a tinted moisturiser feel than a foundation so I can barely feel it on my skin, perfect for natural day to day looks. It can be built up to an extent but I tend to wear it lightly with concealer where I need it. Whenever I wear BareMinerals foundations I feel so much better than when I wear other brands. My skin doesn’t feel aggravated and clogged as it can do with some other so this is perfect.
TooFaced Natural Love Palette
I wrote a First Impressions post of this and I have a full review coming soon so again I won’t say too much but this has been my go to palette since I got it. It’s very versatile with a nice range of finishes perfect for all sorts of looks. It’s classed as a neutral shade palette however it also has a nice range of pinks, silvers and orange tones so it’s great for both warm and cool tone looks which a lot of neutral palettes don’t do. It seems pricy at first glance but when a lot of palettes of a similar quality are £40 for 12 shades, the £52 for 30 definitely feels worth it to me!
Colourpop Lippie Stix – Lumiere
I included this in a haul in May and it is one of the main lipsticks I have reached for since. It’s a matte finish so it’s very long lasting but it’s also creamy enough that it doesn’t leave my lips feeling too dry. The shade is a pretty rose pink neutral shade which is great for a “your lips but better” look. The small shape makes it’s good to swipe on in a rush without looking like a clown. If your putting in an order to colourpop, don’t forget to add this to the list!
Urban Decay Cream Lipstick in Liar
This has been the other go-to lipstick for spring, I brought it on a whim at the end of April when there was a percentage off (either 10 or 15 I think) and I had £10 of Debenhams points to spend so I decided to treat myself. I usually go for a matte finish not a cream but I wanted a change. This is a more brown toned shade than Lumiere and is a softer finish due to it being cream. Despite this it’s still got full pigmentation with one swipe and is nicely long lasting (although not as much as a matte shade).
Urban Decay Original Primer Potion
Another Urban Decay product, I have been loving the brand recently. I had tried a sample of this a long time ago and liked it but didn’t think I needed it enough to justify the price so I didn’t purchase it. Having a bit more disposable income this year, I decided I would get one to try as I was having issues with my eyeshadow creasing. I chose to get the travel size in case I didn’t like it… turns out that wasn’t anything to worry about! It leaves a good neutral base and the shadow still blends well despite the tackier feel on the eyelid. If I’m wearing eyeshadow for more than half a day this is definitely a must to keep it looking fresh and in place.
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them
With this I mean the book. I was given the new edition of the book for my birthday which I absolutely love, it feels so special as it’s hard back and beautifully illustrated. The colours on the cover are vibrant and very pretty in my book collection. This is the perfect book to dip in and out of as it’s a description of each magical creature so you can pick pages at random and read about that creature. Perfect for a spare moment here or there.
Royal and Langnickel Crafter’s Choice Golden Taklon Round 11pc Value Brush Set
I had been wanting some new brushes for watercolour and I came across a post by Jemma at Dorkface.co.uk raving about these so I just had to ty them. This was a budget set and despite this, the quality is fantastic. They hold their shape well after consistent use and washing, they haven’t shed at all and they hold water perfectly for my use. I got these in blue and gold and I’m planning on getting them in purple and white for my acrylic shoe paints.
Pickled Onion Monster Munch
I have been loving these for a very long time, in the past year I literally haven’t brought anything else I eat a bag daily with my lunch and I can’t see that changing anytime soon. They are definitely a childhood favourite which I am rekindling my love for and I bed I’m not the only one!
I would love to know if you have been enjoying any of these things too, I really enjoy sharing my favourites with you and reading yours! Let me know in the comments what yours are!
Thanks for reading,
