We are now at the end of February, the days are getting longer and hopefully the weather will start getting warmer soon to go with it! As we are coming to the end of the season I wanted to do a round up of things I have been loving through the winter. I have tried to add a mix of stuff from beauty to blankets. On that note…
I have Dom’s family to thank for this one! I received this for Christmas and I absolutely love it! It’s so comfortable and just the right thickness to use anytime as it isn’t too thick for spring and it’s not too thin for the middle of winter, perfect. Dom also loves it because I am ALWAYS colder than he is so I use blankets a lot when we cuddle and he ends up covered with them too, getting way too warm. As this is designed so you put your legs into a blanket tube, it only wraps around you, no overheating boyfriends!
This is a Christmas present which Dom got for me. My family think it is pretty ridiculous, maybe it is, but I don’t care! I have a giant fluffy penguin which I can cuddle and is basically a fluffy beanbag. I especially love this when I am feeling sorry for myself with a cold and I can cuddle up with this watching rom-coms and try to get better. No idea where I will fit it in my tiny studio flat from September though!
Constellation Ugg Boots
I was good on black Friday this last year, I only actually brought 2 things for myself, my new phone and these boots. I have worn these so much since I got them, it’s like wearing slippers outside, perfect for those cold snowy days. The shape of these is the same as the classic short Ugg boots but these have an added bit of glamour with Swarovski crystals that look like star constellations which really glitter in the light. There were a couple of extra touches too, they came with some extra crystals in case any fall off and the areas which get the most wear have the constellations painted on instead of crystals to avoid too many falling off, meaning it won’t look patchy.
Burt’s Bees Ginger Snap Lip Balm
This was limited edition and I may have stocked up on a few tubes as I just can’t get enough of it. Ginger and cinnamon baking are my favourite parts of winter and Christmas. I just love it. This lip balm is a way for me to continue this feeling even longer while also keeping my lips nice and moisturised. Burt’s Bees lip balms in general are my go to for keeping dryness at bay, I have tried so many others but none seem to last as long or leave my lips as soft as Burt’s Bees and this Limited Edition winter flavour is no exception. Fingers crossed they bring it back next year!
It probably doesn’t comes as much of a surprise that I love this considering I have been using the Aveeno Cream constantly for a few years now. This is a fairly new discovery of mine however which I started using in September/October and I have really been loving it through the colder months. I haven’t tried this by pouring some in the bath yet, I use it in the shower as the last product I apply, usually just after my shower gel. I find that this really helps to soften and keep my skin moisturised longer after my shower. This means I don’t have to rush to apply my body lotion straight away (or at all if I don’t have time…). I highly recommend this if you have dry skin as an added boost when you struggle to stop your skin getting tight and overly dry before you even have a chance to look at a moisturiser.
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Liquid Foundation
I will admit, this is the first high end liquid foundation I have been able to try properly other than Bare Minerals and I really enjoy using it. I received a 10ml sample of this in a product promotion back in November and decided to save it for a special occasion which I decided was going to be Christmas day. Luckily the free sample was a very good colour match so I was able to use it and it felt lovely and light weight on my skin once applied. As the sample is so big I have used it a few times and always got the same perfect result, I still haven’t finished the sample though. I wouldn’t have said that it has 24-hour wear, definitely not around my nose, although no foundation last long there when I have to use a tissue every time I go from inside to outside or vice versa, but with a setting spray this would still last long enough through the day for me. I don’t really want to say much more about it because I have a full review coming soon!
Last but certainly not least I want to mention a band that has been a firm favourite of mine ever since I first saw/heard of them when they supported Muse at Wembley Stadium in September 2010. I can’t believe that was almost 7 years ago now! Back in the summer when their tour was announced I persuaded Dom, who hadn’t really listened to them, to agree to go to the Manchester Albert Hall Concert in November and he loved it as much as me. Their newest album was released in October and I have been listening to that and their old songs almost non-stop since, I absolutely love their music and recommend you have a listen if you haven’t already! I love the songs so much that I may have 2 more concert dates booked for March and July (they are supporting The Killers in Hyde Park!) and I absolutely can’t wait!
Are any of these favourites for you too? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks for Reading!
