What’s in My Travel Make-Up Bag… Shell Eco-Marathon

Hi Guys!

So, I wrote this Make-Up post before I went to Rotterdam but I couldn’t schedule it at the time, so I thought I would post it this week instead, even if it is 2 weeks late…

Chances are, I will be using this travel combination a lot over the next month as I am travelling and camping a lot for various events.

Anyway, as I was camping and had to be at a meeting at 8am every morning, it made sense to take products that were easy to apply and didn’t require too many brushes. So…

For the primer, I decided to take the Bare Minerals Original Prime Time. The tube that I have of this is a sample size, so is perfect for travelling and applies the best of all of my primers with my chosen base. If you want my full opinion of this, it can be read in my previous post: The Comparisons… Primers.

For foundation, I decided to take my new favourite foundation, the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream in 02 Vanilla. I won’t say too much about this because I want to do a full post on it, however, I will say that I absolutely LOVE it. This was the best base for me to take to Rotterdam as I could easily apply it with my fingers so didn’t need to use a foundation brush.

For Concealer, I took the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Need I say more? I find the best way for me to apply this under my eyes is to blend it in by dabbing it with my fingers. This gives the best coverage, without it caking. I rarely apply a concealer to my blemishes.

For Blusher, I took only cream blushers as these do not require a brush. I have the MUA Luxe Whipped Velvet Blush in Chichi, a gorgeous coral colour that blends out to a beautiful shade and Essence Soo Blush! In 20: Everything is Better in Pink, a pretty pink shade that when blended is very similar to my natural flush.

For a Highlighter, I also took cream/liquid products. I had the MUA Undress Your Skin Illuminating Liquid Glow – a perfect dupe for Benefit High Beam – and the Essence Soo Glow! In 20: Bright up Your Life, a very similar pink glow.

For Powder, I took the Bare Minerals Original Mineral Veil. Seeing a pattern here? Initially, I wasn’t a fan of this, however, the more that I use it, the more I want to keep using it. It finishes invisibly and sets my make-up perfectly.

For my eyeshadow, I took the Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow in 65 Pink Gold. I again chose this because I can apply this with my fingers, this is a beautiful shimmer that is gorgeous on its own or as a base for other shadows. I also had the Max Factor Masterpiece Colour Precision Eyeshadow in Pearl Beige which when blended, adds a slight shimmer to my natural skin colour, I use this as a base. I am also took the L’Oreal La Palette Nude in 01 Rose for if I want to use something more (didn’t really need the latter though as it didn’t get used…)

For my eyeliner, I am took the Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24hr in both 01 Black and 02 Brown these are my favourite Gel eyeliners. I will do a post on these soon. I also have the Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in 005 Nude which I use on my waterline.

For my brows… you know, I think this is the first time I am mentioning how I do my brows? Maybe not, I can’t remember… anyway, I took the Collection Colour Lash Clear Mascara. I basically buy the cheapest clear mascara that I can find and use it to hold my brows in place. I shape them with my superdrug brow brush, then use this.

For my Mascara, I have my usual Revlon Photoready 3D volume Mascara in Black. This mascara is THE BEST.

Of course, I took several lip products.

I took the Revlon ColourStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in 097 Designer – a gorgeous orange/red with a golden shimmer – and 025 Socialite – a nude pink rose shade. I think I need to do a post on these too. They are a go to for me, they may be a bit drying however, from 5 minutes after application, they do not budge. I have been for a night out, removed my makeup and still had somehow had this on in the morning. I didn’t even re-apply. It is amazing.

I also took a new lipstick, the Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in 855 Poppy. This is a vibrant red that looks wonderful with my skin tone. The formula feels beautiful and it is fairly long lasting. However, I find that it is way to big for me to apply straight from the bullet. It just goes everywhere, so I always need a brush. In hindsight, maybe not the best choice when I am in a tent…

The Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in 01 Coral Calling. This is an easy to apply, wearable but bright coral pink. It is a go-to for me if I want a quick but bright lip colour.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick. I took 2 of these. The matte shade 107, which I am still yet to properly try out, and the Shine finish in 037, another bright but wearable shade.

Finally, I have also got the Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Chic. I think this will look beautiful over the top of Revlon Socialite as well as on its own.

In the end however, I didn’t actually use these, just my Burt’s Bees Pink Grapefruit lip balm as my lips were incredibly dry all week.

So there we have it! All of the makeup products I took with me! Let me know in the comments if you want full reviews of any of these, or what you think of them if you have given them a try!

Thanks for Reading my Travel Make-Up post!
